The SMARTBEAM® offers versatility, reliability and economy for
all types of floor and roof structures. The beams are aesthetically pleasing,
lightweight and structurally sound.
CMC Steel Products is the leading cellular beam manufacturer
for the Americas. A hexagonal design is also offered. Both start
with a standard WF beam, which is cut in half longitudinally.
The two halves are separated, staggered and welded together to
form a SMARTBEAM® that weighs the same but is 50% stronger
and deeper than the original beam.

SMARTBEAM® Applications
|
|
The SMARTBEAM® is ideally suited for composite floor beams. The most
efficient span for the SMARTBEAM® is typically 40'-60' (12.2m -18.3 m).
The most common building types for the SMARTBEAM® are office buildings,
parking garages, mezzanines or any structure with a suspended floor. The SMARTBEAM® has superior vibration
characteristics and the ability to accommodate mechanical equipment (ductwork, wiring, and fire protection) make
it an ideal product for any floor construction.
